I’ve been quite surprised (ok, down right shocked) by how our young ace sees women or rather how she defines “femininity”. That girl doesn’t simply look older than her age, she thinks like if she was raised back in the 50ies! Σ( □|||)

Like Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman, a sweet and beautiful young woman in dress appears. Hard to believe a 14 years old, still in middle school, could display such charm. Who is really that Juliet of modern times?
Jurina - During our first theater performance of the year, I wrote on my kakizome* 「I want to become a fine young lady」. To be admired by all, to be serious in all the decisions I make, diligent even toward little things to become a beautiful young lady. I want to be one of those girls who, when they go to eat outside, spontaneously take care of the dishes on the table**.
Looking at myself, I think that being extremely scared of jet coasters, roller coasters and haunted houses are the girly aspects of my personality. Despise the appearance, I’m a pretty easily frightened person. Also, in front of someone I like, I turn into a pampered child.
In my opinion, what’s called “femininity” is better defined by the fact of taking care of your family. Not matter how cute you look or how elegantly you dress, I believe cooking and chores are essential . There are couples in which the man cook but I think domestic chores are to be done by women***. Someone who easily handle cooking, doing the laundry and clean the house will certainly become good mother.
Myself I prepare the dinner and bake sweets! Of course I can do that much! I properly give an hand to my mother! I’m still only 14, but from now on, I’ll learn how to help more and more.
Jurio looks way too good…. When Jurina reappeared wearing a suit, the whole studio became silent at once. Everyone got their breath taken away by this elegance, words were failing us.
Jurina - I was confident I could pull something really good by disguising myself as a boy (tl : dansou) (laugh). Other members too disguise themselves as men for various programs’ sake, but I’ve been told I was the one who look the best in dansou. Since I was young I’ve loved the boyish look (tl : also style, appearance, manner etc… very broad meaning), I’ve wished I could become a boy. I wanted to receive tons of chocolate for Valentine, to hear girls squeal when I pass by them, to become popular with girls! I’m glad I turned into an even better looking man than I had hope for!
The boyish aspect of my personality, I would say it’s my sense of justice. If I guy was to bully a girl in front of me I’d call him out 「Don’t you dare bullying someone because they’re weak!」. I tend to easily step forward to settle accounts.
And so during handshake events when I’m surrounded by female fans, I feel like if I have become a man. (tl : 気分は男 = to feel like a man)
GACKT is the kind of man I look up to. He looks good when he dress in visual-key, he is tall and athletic. He excels in calligraphy, practices karate and has outstanding dancing and singing skills. He plays several instruments like piano and violin. He has so many talents. I want to become someone like that too.
In my opinion, a true man is able to apologize, say things like 「I’m sorry」. It’s hard to apologize. That’s why in my opinion people who acknowledge their own mistake and apologize for it are strong and reliable. They are the right person to date or marry.

** In Japan traditionally and mostly in izakaya where several dishes are served at once in small plates, women are expected to serve men and clean their dishes once they’re done. Though this unwritten rule is more and more challenged by the young generation, Jurina’s way of thinking still isn’t all that infrequent.

SKE Members Interview Part 2
Translation of SKE members interview Part 2. Where we learn that Jurina tasted Rena’s ear countless time and had in mind to make it even sexier than it turn out to be (*Φ皿Φ*)

Hiramatsu Kanako : You can find members in love with each others here and there indeed. If I had to marry someone I’d pick Masana!! I feel like she would never cheat on me and she would firmly control our finances.
Masana : Eh? For those reasons?! (lol)
Interviewer : Next, tell us about the highlights of this MV you shoot in Okinawa!
Jurina : Love knows no rule, that’s probably the theme. However I think that for everyone the most shocking part will be the kiss scene between Kumi and Kanon.
Kumi : I want everyone to watch that scene with a critic mind. If you’re comfortable watching it and just go “Ah, they’ve done it”, that will help us greatly (lol).
Kanon : I’ve already been told during HS that it was “shocking/devastating/astonishing”.
Kumi : There were also a lot of persons who were envious (lol).
Ogiso : Another noticeable scene is the kiss between Rena-san and Jurina-san!
Jurina : I was supposed to kiss Rena-chan’s ear but during the shooting I received tons of indications from the director, so I had to do it again and again. It was embarrassing at first but at some point, I started giving my own opinion and took things in hand. Finally, I was told 「You can’t do it too sexy either!」 (lol).
Kaneko : It was the first for me shooting a scene in a love hotel, it was intimidating wasn’t it? While the girls were playing with their cosmetics, there was that scene between Kanako and me, right?~
Hiramatsu Kanako : Hum. It was originally planed than we would be putting make up on each other but suddenly we were kissing…. It felt really rushed.
Kin-chan while approaching to kiss me actually collided her nose on mine (lol).
Rena : Ahahahaha. By the way, after shooting this MV did any of you entered the world of same-sex love?!*
Kanon : Shooting was fun, but truth is we only made a small step into that world…
Kumi : Exactly. If there was more to it than this, that would be quite a shock for me (lol).

SKE Members Interview Part 1
Bit too much free time so decided to translate this interview related to KataFai. Topic is, how would the members react if they had a one-sided crush.
SKE48, the prohibited route.
What if the members were to fall for each other?!
「The love hotel shooting was intimidating」 (Kaneko)
SKE48 new single 「Kataomoi Finally」 a song exploring new fields, 「drastically different from what we have release until now」 all the members agree.
Jurina : Until now, our singles were mostly cheerfull and full of pep but this time the atmosphere is serious and mature.
Mizuki : Since our 1st single 「Tsuyokimonoyo」 we always performed with a smile no?
Kanako : Starting with our 2nd single, we always had a bright smile while singing and the atmosphere was healthful.
Yuria : It had been the same for a long time, so I remember when we have been first introduced to the song (KataFai) we all hold our breath until the final note.
Rina : Somehow, the more I listened to the lyrics, the more I was penetrated by the subject…
Masana : I like the 「suki nanda kimi ga suki nanda」part in the chorus. In AKB48’s Oogoe Diamond too they shout “dai sukida” 2 times in a row, I get the feeling that saying it twice really convey the feeling better!
Akari : Usually it’s too embarrasing to pronounce the word 「suki」, but when we sing this song the embarrassment vanishes completely, right?
Airi : And the tune will be stuck your head, there are high chances this song will be a hit. Since the fist time I heard it I thought 「That will sell!」 (lol)
Mag question : In the lyrics the “unrequited love” is written from a boy point of view but if you girls had a one-sided crush, what would you do?
Rena : I’ve never had this kind of experience so… If I had to pick one, Tidus from Final Fantasy X. Because he protected my beloved female character** I completely felt for him!
Kanon : No experience on my side either. But maybe, I’d observe this person from a certain distance, graviting around. I’d try to attract his/her attention I think.
Shiori : Me too I’m not good at convey my feelings so I can’t win him/her over straight away.
Manatsu : Same here, I can’t make the first step so I’m the type to observe from afar and stop there. Then, if our eyes meet I’ll get the wrong idea, like 「Maybe I have my chances!」.
Airi : What a sad delusion (lol)
Shiori : Contrary to you, I’m the type who want to chase after. I want to conquier him/her!
Kuwabara : Same, I’ll go all out until I gained him/her over. Tie him/her up, make him/her rolling on the floor, force him/her to smell the odor of my indoor shoes…(lol)
In elementary school I threw rubber residue to the kid I liked, but he/she escaped.
Yagami Kumi : You’re great. If I had an unrequited love, I’d probably be consumed by jealousy. Even among members like Kinoshita Yuuko I’m close too, when she has fun with someone else I start thinking 「What about me~?!」 and I get jealous (lol).

Looking back at this hectic year that was 2011 but where you ranked 10th at AKB general election, what are your thoughts?
Rena - Since the elections, I changed radically, my work increased considerably, people who have their look on me changed. But among the members nothing changed, it stayed the same. It has been a fun year during which I learned a lot about myself.
Tell us about your goal for 2012
Rena - This year I want to greedily take over many things / attract to me a lot of people.
Gree— Greedily?
Rena - I need to become greedy to succeed at making a lot more people know about 「Matsui Rena」 as a person. I want to become prominent and from there lead people to know about 「SKE48」!
